China has every major religion, but a majority of Chinese people are part of a denomination of Buddhism (52% are non religious or atheist). Buddhism came to China starting with the Han dynasty. There are three different types of Buddhism in China, Han, Tibetan, and Southern Buddhism. Another common practice, Taoism is a philosophical religion common in China. Taoism was originally only for highly educated people but now widespread and easier to understand. Taoist’s hope is to become immoral.

FoodOne famous food in Beijing is Peking Duck. It originated with the Ming dynasty, and the recipe stayed secret only known by palace chefs for years until the fall of the Chinese dynasty in 1911, when it got out.
